Tennessee Fall

I passed every corner and fell through the streets
I hated this town til I left Tennessee
And I felt like being able to go back in time
Oh it hurt to feel forgotten
And not to be missed
Like it was to wish back for a past lover's kiss
But falling for now feels better than nothing at all

When those leaves turn
And you've got some gas to burn
Just let your life stall
Forget it all
And go driving through that Tennessee fall

Oh I let everything go away in the breeze
That I felt as I turned off of 11-E
And I felt like being able to finally let go
Oh we're caught up in walls
And the cities that we built
We hope for some luck when we send off our kids
And it all comes back to wishing we'd taken our time

When those leaves turn
And you've got some gas to burn
Just let your life stall
Forget it all
And go driving through that Tennessee fall
